In purely ‘green strategy’ terms, Obama’s election was by far the most important step forward for the US on climate in a decade. Given the acceleration of climate tipping points, it could have been catastrophic to lose another 4 or 8 critical years with a climate-denying conservative leading the world’s largest economy and only superpower.
